The Grace That Trains

Sunday, 14 July 2024

Tit 2:12  This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.

Tit 2:13  For we continue to look forward to the joyful fulfillment of our hope in the dawning splendor of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus, the Anointed One.

Tit 2:14  He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes.

The grace of God teaches us. The word Teach means to train or discipline. The word teach is not in the same sense we use as classroom teaching but a training under discipline. One way of frustrating the grace of God is refusing discipline or simply being lazy. Laziness is knowing what to do and just simply not doing it. The grace of God trains us to know how to live. We yield to this training. We learn to submit to it. We learn to embrace it. The discipline includes denying ungodliness and worldly lust. Take advantage of this grace. The training is in God’s word and by the Holy Spirit. As you yield yourself to act, think and walk according to the word empowered in prayer, you will not fulfill the lust or desires of the flesh.

Gal 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

DECLARE AND CONFESS

I walk in the spirit and do not fulfill the desires of the flesh. The grace of God is available for me, I submit to that Grace and I walk in the newness of this life. I am passionate about doing what is beautiful in the eyes of Jesus.
