1 Tim 6:13
I’m charging you before the life-giving God and before Christ, who took his stand before Pontius Pilate and didn’t give an inch:
Take your stand. We follow the example of Jesus. In these matters, we take our stand and don’t give an inch. Jesus before Pontus Pilate could have been set free. All Jesus needed to do was to defend himself. But he has taken his stand. He was not going the easy route. Your decision sometimes will cost you. What will you do at that point? A man of conviction makes quality decisions and stands by them no matter what. Be a man or woman of conviction. Oh, how that is lacking in many places. The three Hebrews in Daniel, in a face-off with the King boldly declared their stand.
Dan 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
You see it was not a “maybe” “we’ll let’s see how it goes issue” or “when we get there we will decide “. No sir. They did not have to think about it. They said we are not careful, it’s old English for saying this is not a matter for consideration, this is our core, and it’s not up for negotiation. Death is not sufficient to deter us. Ah! CONVICTIONS.
The Hall of Faith in Heb 11 speaks of men of convictions. These people took their stand.
Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) They wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
“Of whom the world was not worthy”! Hmmmm.
Take your stand. What are your core convictions?
There should be things in your life that are non-negotiable. Quality decisions that are not up for deliberations.
What are your convictions on faith, righteousness, honesty, and love for the brethren?
TAKE YOUR STAND!
1 Tim 6:11.(message)
But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life – a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy.
Keep this command to the letter, and don’t slack off. Our Master, Jesus Christ, is on his way.
PRAYER:
Precious Lord, I receive grace to stay faithful and true to the convictions of true faith and devotion to you. I take my stand in walking in love towards all. I take my stand in kingdom expansion. I take my stand to live a life of faith, I will sow my seed, I will tithe, and I will forgive always.
