2Pe 1:18  And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

2Pe 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts:

Apostle Peter captures an all-important thought in the preceding scripture. He was in that mountain and heard the word directly out of heaven but He said there is also a more sure word.

God’s written word is a sure banker.

We might not always get a direct voice from heaven but we have God’s thoughts towards us fully expressed in scripture. Those words are ever true, never changing.

And Peter helps explain what we should do with the written word. We are to PAY ATTENTION until the light breaks out and the revelation rises within us.

For instance, scripture says in Job 5:26, Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

This word stands in the courts of heaven and is unchangeable. It is for all, it is of no private interpretation. It means you cannot die an untimely death. Nothing else but this promise is permitted.

This is what we pay attention to and not the voices in the world. Stay with it and let it be your reality.

Regarding the promises of God, the book of Job reveals in

Job 5:27  Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
