The value system of the believer is different from that of the world system. We are in the world but not of the world.

We have our kingdom ideals and priority and many times it goes crosswise with popular culture.

Rom 12:2  Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (TPT).

A believer could become discouraged, weary, and tired because he or she has recruited himself in a race that is not theirs. The world has its ways and if you follow and subscribe to it your spirit will become weary and heavy. It is not designed to function that way. We have a different set of values and rules for life. Our methods are different.

We are not in competition with anyone or with the world. Our paths are ordained by God. The world lives for the here and now. We have eternity to think about. Our lives are not just about the here and now. We live with eternity in view, we live with God-ordained purpose in view.

The issue is that there is a race, a divine destiny set before you, how concerned are you about this? Or you are more concerned about the next live show on TV? The dream car? Your schoolmates and how they seem to have advanced in life? Of course, having a nice car and the good things of life are necessary but eternity must be kept in view at all times.

The wise person is the one who prepares for the future that must come.

PRAYER:

Father in the name of Jesus, my heart is yielded to you. I receive grace to keep divine purpose and destiny in view. I receive grace to be a wise person in life. I receive grace to maintain kingdom values and ideals.
