Heb 7:4  Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

For honour for the anointed to remain in your heart you must consider the greatness of the anointed.

It is not only the reader in this book of Hebrews that is expected to consider how great Melchizedek was because even the patriarch considered him great and gave him a tenth of all.

Honor for the Anointed stems from “considering how great this man is” It is difficult to honor from the heart when you see the prophet or the anointed as “one of us”

Mat 13:57  And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Learn not to make common the anointed.

1Ti 5:17  Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.

1Ti 5:18  For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The laborer is worthy of his reward.

The honor in the above scripture is clearly about giving to the anointed. Once there is honour in the heart it is evidenced and sealed by giving.

Consider how great this man was to whom Abraham GAVE. If there is no giving there is no honour.

In many ways, this is a very cardinal doctrine for the believer, and I appreciate that sometimes it has been abused but it remains a powerful tool for advancement. It’s not a subject for argument but a recommendation for life.

Take advantage of the provisions of the gifts of God to men.

Take advantage of the anointed.

It is a secret tool to sweat less advancement in this life!
